Winter is the Time to Strengthen your Vital Energy Reserve copy
Strengthen your Vital Energy Reserve
Winter is the season to strengthen your energy reserve. It needs to be replenished and balanced in the winter in order for our energy levels to remain strong for the rest of the year. Our Kidneys, Adrenals, and Bladder store the energy our body runs on. These 3 organs regulate the endocrine system, fluid metabolism, bone health and the reproduction system. The winter season applies to warm climates as well as cold. Protect yourself from becoming cold or feeling chilled in the winter. The cold winter will deplete your energy reserve for the entire year if you do not keep yourself warm. Besides the cold weather another energy grabber is over exerting yourself in the winter. Exercise is important but not at full throttle in the winter. It is the season to restore your energy banks. Slow down a little. Take a few more baths and less showers. Go to sleep earlier and wake up later. Revitalize your energy stores using more essential oils and drinking herbal teas that contain volatile oils.
Dress in layers so when the temperature drops you can reach for warmer clothes. Staying warm and dry is imperative. In cold weather, I literally go the barn to take care of the horses in snow pants and jacket, hat pulled down low and two layers of gloves. If the leather ones get wet, I can pull them off. I always wear thick wool socks. As soon as I come indoors, I make a hot cup of chai tea, it is loaded with warming herbs with a little zip of caffeine from white tea. I make my own chai tea steeping a white tea bag in water while heating almond milk until is scalds with clove powder, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon. Four warming herbs to nurture my Kidneys, Adrenals, and Bladder. Then I rest while I drink my tea. Exhaustion also depletes your energy reserved. Winter is the season to rest and center on your inner man, strengthen your spirit and clear your soul and mind. Find your center of peace and learn how to get there throughout the year. Awareness is important, maintain your energy and a peaceful countenance.
The horses enjoyed all the negative ions all night long from the rain and thaw to the ice and snow, in one night. Their spirit was light, eyes wide open and head held high. They were happy to interact with me. Harmony laid her face on mine and we shared or breath, their way of showing affection, we were face staring into my eyes. I said to her, “You good? I’m good.” She lifter up her head, nodded yes and walked away. I may not have experienced the same fresh air over night, filled with uplifting negative ions from nature, but I enjoyed sharing their energy and companionship.
Terrie and I did patch the driveway the following day. We scouted rocks and pieces of broken ash vault. We had to pry them loose from the ice. We used sand and tile grout mix, the gray powder. Terrie had a reserve in case of emergency. Thank you, Terrie, for thinking ahead. It’s patched well enough to drive over. It was a laborious morning, 3 hours to patch the drive way, care for the horses and a couple of other outdoor chores. When I went inside it was time to rest. First things first, hot chai tea and lunch, then a shower, and some more rest.
Working with essential oils revives your energy and has healthy virtues. It’s all in a day’s work. I always thought about essential oils as a luxury. Because I value them and realize their holistic benefits. Today, I think about them, as a staple of a holistic lifestyle.
If you enjoy diffusing essential oils in your home, here is a list of some of the warming oils to strengthen your energy reserve and support a healthy atmosphere. These are effective anti-viral and immune strengthening oils.
Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is warm, subtly woodsy and earthy scent has a brightening and uplifting effect on the mood and is reputed to ease feelings of stress. It has been said to promote relaxation, which not only leads to restful sleep but that is also believed to have potential as an aphrodisiac.
Clove Bud Essential Oil has a penetrating warm spicy aroma that is mentally uplifting and stimulating.
Frankincense Essential Oil is spiritually grounding and is calming and relaxing without being a sedative.
Lemon Essential Oil is commonly used to ease stress, combat fatigue, and insomnia.
Rosemary Essential Oil: The fresh quality of Rosemary Oil’s woodsy and herbal aroma makes it uplifting and stimulating, properties that make it ideal for enhancing the mood and increasing cerebral activity as well as focus.
Five Trees Essential Oil is a blend of the 5 essential oils listed above. It is warming and uplifting and has been used to purify the air. It removes the buildup of positive ions in the atmosphere which create free radicals inside our body and on the skin. Over a period of time free radicals form skin cell clusters which can become degenerative. Heat, electricity, lights, computers, television and electrical devices create free radicals.
For the external skin care we need to stay hydrated this winter. Hydrosols are hydrating. Rose Geranium Hydrosol hydrates your complexion and hair. I hydrate my hair and face several times a day. The small amount of volatile oil rejuvenates your complexion with a healthy glow and adds shine and bounce to your hair.
It’s the little changes in your lifestyle that will make the biggest difference of all.
Stay warm and hydrated this winter to maintain your health and beauty.

5 Revitalizing Whole Plant Extracts for Healthy Beauty
One of the many virtues plants have is to revitalize and maintain our healthy beauty.
Essential oils and lipid oils, and distillates are companions that have the same assimilation system, they work well together. They follow a precise delivery system for specific skin care needs. They nurture all skin conditions with essential nutrients. For dry skin they moisturize, oily skin with fatty acids to balance the flow of oil, normal skin, degenerative and dehydrated skin, antioxidants, poly-phenol nutrients, bioflavonoids, antihistamine's for rashes along with demulcents to soothe and repair rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. They are anti-aging building blocks for new skin and collagen.
Lipid oils restore collagen and develops your skin's youthful appearance and elasticity. Collagen also helps skin to mend properly after injury or acne prone complexions. Collagen forms small fibers, making a netting of protection for the skin keeping wrinkles and fine lines away. Collagen breaks down as we age, and the skin's collagen fiber production decreases causing sagging skin, wrinkles and visible signs of sun damage and liver spots. This does not spell the end of skin health since there are ways to restore collagen through natural lipid oils which contain chlorophyll and beta carotene. Chlorophyll is a powerful source of amino acids. They form a bond with beta carotene synthesizing peptides, a synergistic bond with collagen; promoting thicker skin.
Nurture your skin with a synergistic holistic skin care serum. Anna’s Secret Skin Repairing Serum will revitalize and restore healthy beauty, eliminating aging skin and repair damaged skin. Cold pressed seed oils contain a high content of chlorophyll for a powerful bond of amino acids and beta carotene to formulate peptides, which trigger protein production to restore collagen for healthy skin. The serum is synergistic and provides vitamin A, and is a great source of vitamin E. This serum also contains bioflavonoids for a complete nutrient rich, vitamin C fix. The amino acids and beta carotene in this serum forms natural peptides to restore your skin’s natural collagen production for a smoother, more youthful complexion without any harsh side effects. Anna’s Secret Skin Repairing Serum will have long-lasting effects that flow and nurture a holistic skin care.
Carrot seed essential oil is steam distilled from wild carrot seeds. A beautiful herb has a popular name, the carrot plant is “Queen Anne's Lace”. The extraction has significant amounts of vitamins E and C, and carotenoids that directly affect the repair system for healthy beauty. It repairs damaged skin caused by acne, improving the look and texture of the complexion. Sun lovers exposed to ultra-violate rays for long periods degenerate skin tissue. The beta-carotene is the pre-cursor for Vit. A and the body transform the beta-carotene in the skin with a superior for of Vit. A which repair and revitalize new skin. Carrot Seed Oil also contains vitamins B, C, D & E.
Red Raspberry Seed Oil: Studies were conducted on the properties of cold pressed oil extracted from raspberry seeds. The seed oil was rich in natural sources of Vit.E tocopherols with the following composition (mg/100 g): [alpha]-tocopherol 71; [gamma]-tocopherol 272; [delta]-tocopherol 17.4; and total vitamin E equivalent of 97. The oil had good oxidation resistance and storage stability. Lipid fractionation of crude raspberry seed oil yielded 93.7% neutral lipids, 3.5% phospholipids, and 2.7% free fatty acids.

Trying to hide our age only makes us look desperate. These Nutrients work with our bodies natural cell process to make us not only look younger because our skin cells are happy but make us feel younger because the Nutrients are assimilated throughout our bodies through the skin nurturing our entire being empowering the beauty within.
I recognize that women of all ages want to be seen, recognized, noticed, communicated with and valued.
There is no age limit to those desires. Many women believe we cannot have that kind of attention later in life because of the societal message we've heard since birth. We are led to believe that as we age we lose value. We are told that only youth is attractive. This insidious message can haunt women at a deep psychological level. For many women, as soon as the first grey hair appears or wrinkle becomes noticeable, the battle against time begins. We use all the cosmetics that claim to wipe away our age. Some women go to the extent of cosmetic surgery. The money spent on Botox, collagen injections, and hair dye keep the beauty product companies thriving. Women go to endless measures in a futile attempt to fool themselves and others.
However, I do not believe the way to get that is to try and hide my age, nor do I want attention simply for the way I look. How about taking these points of view into our own hands and changing our own minds about beauty and age. Negative concepts of aging are make-believe, man-made and invented. We make them true by believing them.
“When you change your mind, and start living according to your new points of view, you begin changing truth.”
I am interested in creating a new truth. I believe all women are attractive. It's our nature. We bring fun, desire, and appetite to everything we do. When we find ourselves perfect, exactly as we are, we change our persona. That changes how others perceive us. Feeling good about who you are is attractive. Enjoying ourselves is attractive. The texture of our skin does not make us attractive. Our hair color does not make us attractive. Our clothes do not make us attractive. How we feel about ourselves and how much we are enjoying ourselves is what makes us truly attractive. When we embrace ourselves and life with joy, we become beautiful. "Taking joy in living is a woman's best cosmetic." Rosalind Russell.
I am not interested in just looking younger.
I want to look healthier and radiant.
I want to look like me.
Are you ready to throw away the matte, dull, dry, and old fashioned cosmetics that attempt to wipe away you age and hide who you are? We are free women. Aren't we done with all that nonsense?
No more slavery to cosmetics! Beauty is about natural color, glow, moisture and joy! You don't have to 'put on' your face anymore. You already have one. Are you ready to reveal your skin and features and let them radiate the natural beauty you have?
In my 30 year career in the natural skin care design industry as an herbalist and naturalist, I had many opportunities to test the myriad of natural skin care products on the market. Most products fall into two categories. The first group are highly processed and packed with unsafe chemicals, and the second usually includes many herbs and so-called natural ingredients.
In choosing a product, I apply all the knowledge and experience I have accumulated over my career, deciphering the long list of ingredients and eliminating what is unsafe or not necessary. I have found that the more complex the theory and the higher the price, the less the product does for me.
Less is more. Trusting my body and working in harmony with the natural cycle and process of my body has proven to work best. You have lived a long and rich life. Your face tells a wonderful story. Why hide it?
