When the weather turns cold in Michigan, it's time to settle in and organize everything we collected over the spring, summer, and fall. It is a task we all have and the paper work can be daunting at times. But, every now and then I come across a keeper, a treasured letter such as this one, from an herbalist women, who recognized my calling, in The Way of Herbs and sent me her recipe to carry forward.
I have been a pioneer on this journey since I was 20 years old, doing the field work, collecting fresh herbs, preparing and blending each herbal remedy for the healing and well being of people and pets my own and others. I still serve 48 years later, gathering herbs, blending and processing value added products with the same love and devotion to whole plants for whole people as I have always had. Case histories make the best testimonies.
As an American Traditional Herbalist, with no training from elders or family members, I receive Terry's testimony with an open heart and gratitude. I have never been alone on my path, there are many kindred souls watching over me, and herb teachers I have found on the way; for we know the Spirit is our guide and teacher.
